The HP Ink Tank 319 Printer comes in the closed box during the shipment. The box includes the printer, power cord, USB cable, Software installation CD, manual, ink bottles, and the warranty card. Before you unbox the printer, locate a good place for the printer that has a ventilation. Follow the steps below to set up the printer for the first time.

How to Fix An ‘Incompatible’ or ‘Ink Cartridges Missing’ Error?

After installing the printheads, the printer sometimes does not work and an error message displays an “incompatible or Ink Cartridges Missing error” on the computer screen. The error icon ‘!’ displays on the printer’s control panel and the printhead alert light blink. This error occurs if the printhead is not installed correctly. Follow the steps below to overcome this error.

  • Close the output tray extender. Open the exterior door and the printhead access door. The carriage moves to the center of the printer.
  • If the carriage does not move, press and hold the Black Color Copy button for 3 seconds. The carriage starts to move.
  • Mildly, push down on the blue carriage latch. The blue carriage latch opens. Lightly press down on the printhead and pull the printhead out of the slot.
  • Make sure the plugs on top of the printheads have been removed. If not, remove the plugs.
  • Check whether the tape from the printhead contacts is removed completely. If it is not removed, printer does not function.
  • While you hold the printheads, do not touch the copper-colored contacts or the ink nozzles. Handling these parts results to ink failure.
  • Slide the printhead at a slight upward angle into the empty slot and push on the printhead until it clicks into the place.
  • Insert the tri-color printhead into the left slot and black printhead into the right slot. If the slot are interchanged, printer does not print.
  • Close the blue carriage latch by pushing down until the latch snaps into the place.
  • Close the printhead access door and exterior door. Open the output tray to load paper and try to print.

How to Fix a Carriage Jam Error on HP Ink Tank Printers?

Sometimes, the printhead stop working and ‘E3’ error displays on the printer’s control panel. The Resume light starts to blink when this error occurs. This error occurs if the paper jam occurred previously. You might experience that the printer does not print or stops the print job unexpectedly.
