Printer Support- Common HP Printer Troubleshooting
Ink Cartridge Issues – Printer Support
Step 1: If you’re having some problems with the ink cartridge installed in your printer, make sure that the cartridge you have installed is genuine and authorized by HP.
Step 2: Turn on the printer and open the cartridge access door and wait for the printer to become silent. Push on the cartridge to release it from its position and pull it out to remove it.
Step 3: Check for the presence of any dust or leaks that have accumulated on the cartridge over time and clean it up with a soft cloth sprayed with water. Do the same for the electrical contacts of the carriage. Let it dry for about 5 to 10 minutes before you reinsert it into the printer.
Step 4: Side in the cartridge into its slot and push it until it locks into position. Make sure you insert the cartridge into its respective slot. The color cartridge should be inserted into the left slot and the black cartridge into the right one. Close the cartridge access door.
Step 5: If you still have problems with printing documents, reset it by unplugging the power cord with the printer turned on and plugging it back after a minute.
Step 6: To find out which cartridge is problematic, open the cartridge access door and wait till it becomes silent. Remove the black cartridge and close the cartridge access door. Check for a “Print cartridge error” or “Cartridge missing” error message on the screen.
Step 7: Now open the cartridge access door and remove the color cartridge. Insert the black cartridge into its slot and close the cartridge access door.
Step 8: If the error message is still displayed on the screen, proceed to replace the cartridges. Print a document after replacing the cartridges and call our customer service if it does not print.
